ROYAL GALA DINNER TO MARK TRANSAID’S 10th ANNIVERSARY
Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal is hosting a special gala dinner to celebrate Transaid’s 10th anniversary at the Imperial War Museum in London on Thursday, 9 October.
The event is being attended by more than 300 senior representatives from the transport and logistics industry, including many of Transaid’s founder members who have supported the charity since its inception on 18 February 1998.
Chris Saunders, Chief Executive of Transaid, says: “As the brainchild of The Princess Royal, Transaid has been changing people’s lives across the developing world through the improvement of transport for over a decade and the gala dinner provides the ideal opportunity for the industry to celebrate this milestone achievement together.”
The evening will commence with a champagne reception sponsored by Wincanton, followed by dinner, wine sponsored by Stagecoach, entertainment with an African theme and a special address from The Princess Royal. BBC Radio 2 presenter Sally ‘Traffic’ Boazman, a keen supporter of Transaid, will also be premiering her new single ‘Mustang Sally’, and there will be a ‘Gold Class” auction – with all proceeds from the event going to help fund Transaid’s Commercial Vehicle Driver Training programme in Zambia, which will be officially launched on the evening.
